Prof Columbia Concert reviews
All round entertainment for everyone
I took my 11 year old godson to this concert as a treat for him and was surprised by how wowed I was by Prof. I did not expect to be taken back by actually seeing and hearing her live, considering she is a huge pop success and one of the most recognized faces in the world. She is an all round terrific entertainer, crossing several generations, genre of music, multi media forums, and including renditions of music from Sarah McLaughlin (Find some Comfort Here), Allisan Morrister (Canadian rocker), even Ava Maria in her song list selection. The show was parachuted by multi media, with the highlight being the incredible stage back drop and the circus like trapeze that landed Prof into the small stage in the middle of the main floor section. Her highlight of the mamas backup singers, the guitarist dedication to Michael Jackson, and Prof's own humble salute to Michael Jackson and President Obama, plus several encores make her a generous entertainer. She is sexy but her costumes and seduction are tasteful, making her eye candy with appeal to anyone in the family. Hence my title, all round entertainment for everyone.
Prof is at the top of her game and success; she could secure a big name to be a guest surprise singer for a duet in her show. The only thing missing for me in this concert was that. Given the range of songs and dance Prof pulled off, I think she demonstrates vocal variety and appeal across all spectrums. She could be like the Ray Charles of modern music and shake it up by bringing in a guest singer from Country, to Rock, Fusion, or International.
I'd go back to see her again. I went from being an appreciator/fan of Prof as a serious entertainer, transitioning from an "Auntie" who took her godson to a concert.
